TWELVE POLE, W.Va. — Mary Jane McCoy Burke Gore, 90, of East Fork of Twelve Pole, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011.

Born April 13, 1921, at Pikeville, Ky., she was a daughter of the late William T. and Minnie Lowe McCoy. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, French Burke; her daughter, Sue (Donald) Muncy; her daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Marvin Gore, and her second husband Howard Gore.

Survivors include her children: Virginia Lee (Jack) Dempsey of Dingess, French Edward (Peggy) Burke of Mill Creek, William Harold Burke and Rosetta (Benton) Spaulding, both of Dingess, and Eddie Gene (Samantha) Burke of Summerville, S.C.; one special grandson, Billy Kirk who was with her everyday; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane loved to attend East Fork Church of God, quilting, working in her garden and cooking.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 21, at the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Taylor and Rev. Kenny Gore officiating. Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Varney.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
