Ruby Geneve (Hames) Henson, 91, of Mooresboro, North Carolina, widow of Buford Henson, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her home.

Born October 4, 1920 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Almer Burton Hames and Eva (Parris) Hames.

She was a former employee of Chase High School having worked in the cafeteria and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Forest City, North Carolina.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara (Henson) Gardner of Mooresboro, Betty (Henson) Waters and husband Sam of Mooresboro, Vickie (Henson) McKinney and husband Donald of Forest City; sons, Bobby Joe Henson of Mooresboro, Dewitt Henson and wife Barbara of Chesnee, Eugene Henson, Clyde Henson and wife Shirley all of Mooresboro, Rondle Henson and wife Joyce of Forest City; brother, Rev. Carlton Hames and wife Bobbie of Mooresboro.

Mrs. Henson was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Morris, Reola Cudd, Viola Stacey, Pauline Cantrell and brothers, Leon and Elmae Hames.

Visitation was held 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2001 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Philbeck and Rev. Carlton Hames officiating.

Burial followed at Hicks Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Flowers were accepted or memorials could be made to the charity of one's choice.
