Rites Today For Former Sesser Man. William Harry Cockrum, 60, Steger, former Sesser resident, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Chester Hospital, where he had been a patient 23 days. He had been ill four weeks. Mr. Cockrum was born May 22, 1900, in Franklin County. He was employed as a guard at the Inland Steel Co., in Steger. He leaves his wife, the former Ellen Hale; daughters Mrs. Betty Pierce of Chester, Mrs. Mary Pioletti of North Carolina; sisters Mrs. Trilby Bradley, Mrs. Mina Hammond and Mrs. Nancy Baker, all of Sesser, Mrs. Gertrude Crouch of Kouts, Ind. and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. today at the Sesser Christian Church with the pastor, the Rev. McKinley Crabtree, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser. Friends may call at the Brayfield Funeral Home, Sesser.
