Dies At Auburn
Was Active In Farming Many Years
Auburn, June 1--Edward A. Burtle, farmer in this community for forty years, died at 5:30 p. m. today at his home. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Burtle, born in Glenarm, had resided in the Auburn neighborhood most of his life. He had been in ill health for about a year, but his condition was not believed serious. Saturday he attended the funeral of an old friend, Simon Herron, also an Auburn resident for many years.
Surviving Mr. Burtle are his wife, Mary E.; four sons, Raymond, Harold and Joseph of Auburn and John of Garret; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Spresser of Taylorville, and Mrs. Ivan Leahy of Auburn; brother, G. H. Burtle of Glenarm, a sister, Mrs. Edward Mudd, of Springfield, and thirteen grandchildren.
Remains were taken to the Willis funeral home in Auburn.
