Pauline Gilliard Branch, 108, of 60 Beal St., Oberlin, died Sunday in Polyclinic Hospital.
She was a former schoolteacher; a graduate of Knoxville (Tenn.) Boarding School; and a member of Monumental A.M.E. Church, Steelton, where she was former president, member emeritus and sick committee chair of its Mary L. Jackson Stewardess Board, member emeritus of its Matilda Howard Missionary Society, member of the A. Leroy Bible Class and served on other church boards and committees. She also was a charter member of the Mother's Club of Boy Scouts of America Troop 107 and a member of the former Civic Society of Steelton.
She was the oldest living resident during Swatara Twp.'s 200th Bicentennial, and she gardened until age 90 and voted in every election.
She was the widow of Judson C. Branch. Surviving are two sons, Albert G. of Oberlin, and Marlin G. Sr. of Newport; four daughters, Marzetta Roberts and Patricia A. Branch, both of Oberlin, Jeannette Perry of Inglewood, Calif., and Shirley Lomax of Jamaica, N.Y.; 37 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at noon Friday in her church. Burial will be in William Howard Day Cemetery, Swatara Twp.
