Mrs. Barbie Dies At Inverness, Body Sent Here
Mrs. Peter Barbie, 56, died at the ranch home nine miles north of Inverness at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, after an illness of several years. The body has been brought to the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
Katherine Barbie was born at Vagy Tocseg, Hungary, Feb. 22, 1884, daughter of Mike and Magdalena (Halmen) Haneg.
She was married to Peter Barbie in Hungary, Jan. 18, 1904. Mrs. and Mrs. Barbie came to the United States Oct. 20, 1906, landing at Baltimore, then going directly to Detroit, Mich., where they lived until 1908. In that year they went to North Dakota, coming to Montana in 1910, homesteading north of Inverness.
Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Barbie, only four surviving: Mrs. Melvin Carlson of Inverness; John, who is in the marines; William, working for the Great Northern in Washington; and Alvin, of Inverness. Her husband also survives.
