Mrs. Owen E. Ayers
Mrs. Mabel (Pelkey) Ayers of 144 Grove St., widow of Owen E. Ayers, died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Ayers was born in New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Everett) Pelkey. Mrs. Ayers leaves three sons, David Ayers of Harwinton, Thomas Ayers of Thomaston and Carl Parks of Wolcott; a daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Stecker of Northfield; a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Russell of Fort Fairfield, Maine and nine grandchildren. A private funeral will be held Saturday at the Munson Lovettere Funeral Home Maine Street, Woodbury, with the Rev. William N. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the new North Cemetery, Woodbury. There are no calling hours.
