Mr. Horrocks was born in Ogden Dec. 3, 1872, a son of Samuel and Katherine Buckingham Horrocks, early Ogden pioneers. He attended Ogden schools and worked with his father in a general mercantile store, 2421 Washington. At the death of his father, Feb. 8, 1911, he with his two brothers, Richard and Edward, continued the business under the name of Horrocks Brothers. In 1942 the business was closed out. He was a member of the L. D. S. church.
On March 27, 1900, he married Theresa Marie Carter in Ogden. The couple had always resided in the old L, D. S. Fifth ward.
Surviving are his widow; a son, Elwood Horrocks, Long Beach,
Calif.: a brother, Richard J. Horrocks. Ogden, Utah.
Services will be conducted Monday at two p. m. at the mortuary, Twenty-fourth at Adams, by Bishop Joseph A. Anderson of the Fifth ward. Burial will be in Ogden city cemetery. Published in the Ogden Standard Examiner on 28 January 1950.
