Caroline Clara Rockey, 93, a resident of University Park Nursing Center in State College, formerly of Petersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at the center. Born Oct. 16, 1907, in Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Ora Scott Sprankle. On July 6, 1938, in Petersburg, she married Willard Grove Rockey, who died June 18, 1985. She was a 1926 graduate of Petersburg Vocational High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and reading the Bible. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of the Petersburg Fire Company Auxiliary and a Juniata Valley Band Booster for several years. She is survived by two daughters, Judith May Hickes and Sherry Cathryn Sharum, both of Petersburg; two stepdaughters, Pauline Craver of Orlando, Fla.,and Geraldine Musser of Columbia, Md.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Willard Grove Rockey Jr. in 1942, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg.
