Marion- Rosemary Rice, 83, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 9:15 PM in Parkway Manor in Marion.

Funeral services for Rosemary will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at 3rd Baptist Church of Marion with Pastor Scott Kallem officiating; interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will preside on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959.

Rosemary was born on Sunday, October 16, 1927 in Elkville to Ralph & Josephine (Partington) Dameron. She married Daniel Linnen Rice on Saturday, October 14, 1950. He preceded her on Wednesday, April 1, 1987.

Mrs. Rice is survived by her adoring children, Danalynn Rice of Marion, Georgianna Jo Rice of Tampa, FL and Louis Clifford Rice of Palm Ray, FL; grandson, Nathan & Jenny Rice of Palm Ray, FL; great-grandson, Jonathon Gage Rice and adopted daughter, Libbie Puckett.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Leeburn Dameron; and sister, Sarah Dameron Poe.

Rosemary was a member of the 3rd Baptist Church in Marion, where she loved to volunteer her time. She was also a T.O.P.S. club member and a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She also belonged to the White Shrine of Stephenson County and a long term member of the Moose Club in Freeport, IL. Rosemary drove a school bus for 25 years. After retirement she began work as a CNA and as a caregiver.

Rosemary's children would like to extend a very special thank you to their mother's caregivers, Barbara Holland and Shirley May. Also, including many heart felt thanks to Rosemary's Sunday School class who remembered her always. Last, but definitely not least, thank you to the CNA's, nurses and wellness staff at Parkway Manor.
