Lula Spates Trundle, 90, of Sandy Spring died April 12, 2008, at Friends House in Sandy Spring.

Born Aug. 16, 1917, in Forest Glen, she was the daughter of the late Americus D. Trundle and Lucy E. Wright.

Ms. Trundle graduated from Sherwood High School and the University of Maryland, College Park. She taught secondary school in Montgomery County. During World War II, she worked at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.

Survivors include a sister, Katharine Ligon of El Cerrito, Calif. and a brother, James Trundle and wife Martha of Cherry Hill, N.J. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lucy Ormsby, of Suffolk, Va. and another sister, Gail D. Trundle of Forest Glen.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
