Lucy Ann Seaton was the FIRST burial in Crown Hill.

An old upright marble "slab" with a willow tree at the top. Born in Virginia, she was the wife of Captain John L. Seaton of Paducah, Kentucky. Lucy died of tuberculosis.

Captain Seaton made arrangements for his wife's funeral and burial. He had the following notice placed in the local newspaper, and it read:

"The first burial at Crown Hill Cemetery will take place today (June 2nd, 1864). The Husband of the deceased is a gentleman of high standing, and he is a stranger to this city. We hope his invitation to the public to join in the funeral exercises will be accepted by a goodly number"

William W. Weaver was the undertaker in charge of Lucy Seaton's arrangements.
