Funeral services were held at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorstet. Interment was made in Walker, MN.
Martha was born May 23, 1906 in Winnetoon, NE. She was the daughter of William Sr. and Anna Ernestine Eliza Scheer Filter. It was in this area that she attended high school. She went on to attend Concordia College in Seward. Here she met her future husband, Victor Abresch. They were married June 18, 1925 in Bazile Mills, NE at Christ Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two children.
The young family lived at Elwood, where Victor taught in the Lutheran School. They moved to Rochester, MN, living there for a number of years. Her husband was a salesman and Martha, a salesperson for Stanley Home Products.
Martha did a lot of traveling and lived in various places throughout the United States and Canada.
Upon moving back to Minnesota, she sold real estate in the Twin Cities Metro Area and also in Florida.
Martha moved to the Park Rapids/Walker area in 1991. In May of 1995, due to failing health, she moved into the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
She will be remembered by her son, Roland and wife, Johanna, of Park Rapids; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; daughter, Madeline and a grandson.
