Rosary for Lucia Dominguez Briceno, 76, 805 W. Alvarado St., is to be recited at 7 p.m. today at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass is to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. John Elmer officiating. Burial is to be in Santa Catarina Cemetery.
Mrs. Briceno is to lie-in-state today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Denton Funeral Home.
She died Thursday (March 11, 1993) in her home.
She was born July 10, 1916, in Marathon, Texas, and moved to Carlsbad in 1924.
On Feb. 22, 1938, she married Cipriano Briceno.
Mrs. Briceno was a parishioner of San Joe Catholic Church and a member and past president of the Mother's Club at the San Jose Parochial School. She received commendations for her work.
She was also a charter member of the San Jose Altar Society.
Mrs. Briceno worked for many years as an Avon sales representative.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel Briceno.
Survivors include her husband, Cipriano Briceno of Carlsbad; one son, Francisco Briceno of Carlsbad; four daughters, Velia Blanco of Green River, Wyo., Elvira Romero of Carlsbad, Anna Maria Paz of Carlsbad, and Elva Briceno of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister, Lorenza Gutierrez of Harlengen, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Francisco Briceno Jr., Rudy Romero, Daniel Romero, Daniel Paz, David Paz and Jeremy Paz.
