GALENA, KANSAS: Mildred E. "Aggie" Jent, age 83, passed away at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO at 8:43 pm, Tuesday, Oct 11, 2011.
Aggie was born June 10, 1928 in Galena, KS. Her parents were William E. and Hazel (Hawk) Honeywell.
Except for a few years in Kansas City and St Louis, she had lived in Galena most of her life.
She worked as a custodian for the Galena School System from 1972 – 1990.
She was a member of the Galena Womans Bowling League, and attended the Senior Citizens Center Dinners.
Among her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, and crafts.
She was married to Elmer E. Jent on March 19, 1949 in Bentonville, AR. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Honeywell, and sister, Mary Jo Kitch.
She is survived by her daughter, Belinda (husband Gary) Leming, Lawson, MO; two grandsons, Clay (wife, Andria) Moore, and Brady (wife, Carissa) Moore; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Zoe and Wyatt Moore; one niece, Terri D. Kitch, Galena,KS; one step-granddaugher, Jennifer Kidd; one sister, Natha Anderson, Galena, KS; many nieces and nephews; Canasta players, Bingo buddies, Bowling friends, and wonderful neighbors.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
Dr. Chris Christman will deliver the Eulogy.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Galena School Booster Club in care of the funeral home.
