He was born Aug. 10, 1948, in Independence, Mo., the son of John William and Lola Jean (Brendel).
He graduated from Kingsville High School and lived in Holden and Blue Springs, before moving to Kansas City in 1985.
Mr. Kesterson worked for Ford Motor Co. in Kansas City and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 249.
Surviving his passing are one son Michael Kesterson, Grain Valley; two step-sons, Shawn Green, Kansas City, and Jason Green, Blue Springs; one daughter, Melissa Kesterson Cole, Grain Valley; one step-daughter, Stacy Greer, Liberty; his mother, Lola Jean Kesterson, Sedalia; a brother, Jeff Kesterson, Sedalia; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Holden Cemetery under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo.
