On August 11, 1947, she wed John William Kesterson in Holden, MO.
Jean grew up in the Ozarks and after the passing of her father, moved to Holden with her mother. She went to college and worked in Kansas City as a clerical worker.
Jean met Johnny in Holden and together they built a family, a home, and dug Kesterson Lake outside of town. They had an antique shop called Jean's Antiques for over 50 years. Jean collected antiques from all over the Midwest.
She was an avid gardener and her flower beds were fabulous! She loved jukeboxes and her favorite singer was Elvis. One of Jean's favorite pastimes was winning game after game of Canasta against family and friends.
She is survived by her son Jeff (Julie) Kesterson; four grandchildren: Michael (Tara) Kesterson and Melissa Kesterson-Cole of Grain Valley and Jessica and Jacqueline Kesterson of Sedalia; four great grandchildren: Michael and Tyler Cole and Caitlyn and Cody Kesterson; several nephews including John David (Jeannie) Brendel; several cousins; and her beloved dogs: Buddy and Babe.
Preceding her in death were John William Kesterson, her husband, John Stanton Kesterson, her son, Marie Beavers, her sister, and John Brendel, her brother.
Services will be on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 1:00PM at Cast Funeral Home in Holden, Missouri.
Burial will be February 26, 2013 in Holden Cemetery in Holden, Missouri.
