Services for William Alexander Whitson, 87, resident the Berthold area since 1903, who died in a Minot hospital Dec. 19 after an illness of several months, were held Dec. 22 in the Berthold Congregational church with Amel Whitwer officiating. Butial was in the Wildrose cemetery of Berthold.The Thompson-Larson Funeral home of Minot was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Harry White, Bernard Wold, William Dokken, Lawrence Shelkey and Newton Spriggens of Berthold and Lloyd Rowe of Minot. Honorary pallbearers were Simon DeVelt, Joseph Chase, Vern Knight, Ray Nichols, William Roberts and Herbert Birdsall of Berthold and Henry Finke, Otto Gross and Andy Metz of Minot.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Fred Pond of Spokane, who had been with her father during his illness, and two sons, Ralph of Bakersfield, Calif., and Herbert of Seattle. His sons had both visited him in Minot before his death.
