LEAVES HER EARTHLY HOME

Mrs. E. M. Walbridge Peacefully Passes Away on Monday With Consumption

The departure of Mrs. Emma R. (Whitson) Walbridge from her earthly home brings sorrow to a large number of friends in Northfield, who have attended her almost constantly during her illness. She had been long and slowly declining but was always pleasant and cheerful up to the last.

Mrs. Walbridge was born at Smith Falls, Canada, on July 4th, 1857, and came to Granville Mills (now Cascade) with her father, John A. Whitson, in October 1868. She was married to Mr. Walbridge at Redwing, on Christmas day, 1873, at the Methodist Episcopal church. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Walbridge settled on a farm in the town of Sciota, where they remained until October, 1887, and moved from their to Randolph, where Mr. Walbridge erected an elevator and purchased grain until coming to Northfield in May, 1891, where they have since resided in their beautiful home on Washington streeet.

Mrs. Walbridge was an active member of White Rose Rebeckah lodge and when her health permitted was ever present at its meetings. Her intelligent, steady mind and good sense, her industry and care, her large, warm heart, ever within reach of those in need, her cheerful smile in all conditions, her cordial hospitality and quiet spirit all helped to adorn a most beautiful Christian life.

The funeral was held at three o'clock, p.m., on Wednesday from All Saints Episcopal church, of which she was an active member.

The members of White Rose lodge showed their love and respect for their deceased sister, by bestowing handsome bouquets of flowers on her casket and attending the funeral in a body.

After the last sacred rites were performed over the remains of the deceased by Rev. W. P. TenBroeck, a long procession of friends and relatives who had been with her through life moved quietly to Oaklawn cemetery, where the remains were interred.

Besides a loving husband, Mrs. Walbridge leaves to mourn her loss two children, Vance Milton and Miss Leoti Tressa.
