The body will be brot to Berthold for funeral and burial, and services are set tentatively for 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Congregational church there. Burial will be in the family plot at Wildrose cemetery at Berthold.
Dr. Frank G. Beardsley, formerly of Minot and now of Zumbrota, Minn., has been asked to conduct the funeral rites.
The body is expected to arrive in Minot this evening. The Thomas funeral chapel has charge or the arrangements.
Arnold leaves six children. They are: Mrs. A. C. Torgerson, of Colfax, Wis., formerly of Berthold; Neil Arnold, of Grand Forks; Mrs. H.E. Sanstead, Fargo: Mrs. C. H. Engh, Fargo; Mrs. Charles Kleffer, Lyons, Neb.; and Harry of Sweet Home, Ore.

Mrs. Arnold died at Colfax, Wis., Dec. 27, 1940, while staying at the Torgerson home there.
In addition to the six children, Arnold leaves 27 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. One of the granddaughters is Mrs. Gordon Danielson of Minot.
Mr. Arnold's health had been poor for several years, and during the last few months of his life he had been staying at the Bethany Rest home in Fargo.
Native Of Ohio
The Arnolds came to Northwest North Dakota in 1904 from Nebraska. They settled on a homestead near Tagus. Later they purchased a farm just west of Berthold, and for many years they lived in town there, took an active part in community and church affairs.
Arnold was born Oct. 24, 1854, at Walton, O., and he was reared in Ohio. His marriage to Nancy Lamenta Swan took place at Wooster, O. on his 24th birthday.
When the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Berthold in 1938, a community-wide was held in their honor.
Improved Park, Cemetery
After their marriage they lived in Ohio for several years and then moved into Nebraska, where as pioneers they experienced the hardships of many dry years in that state.
At Berthold, is remembered as one of that community’s moat public spirited citizens. He served on the school board for many years. It was largely thru his efforts that Wildrose cemetery there was improved. For many years he was commissioner of the cemetery and commissioner of Walther park, in which he took a great interest.
For many years he was president or the Berthold Old Settlers association, which held a reunion each summer, and he was the moving spirit behind Berthold fall fair, which for years was an annual event there.
He owned three quarters of land adjoining Berthold on the West, and engaged for years in farming.
