Myron Winfield Scott was the son of Alexander Hamilton and Sophronia Wood (Seymour) Scott. He married Margaretta Hanna on Oct 17, 1871 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa, and they had three children:

Carolyn May "Carrie" Scott
Ralph Myron Scott

Myron was a lawyer, and a graduate of Oberlin in 1869. About 1871, he was admitted to the bar at Marshalltown, Iowa. Three years later, he established a practice in Chicago, but returned to Marshalltown. On 9 May 9, 1884, he opened opened a law and real estate office in New Whatcom.

He died young at the age of 49.
