Copeland, Rev. Charles "Chuck", age 51, of Seymour went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011 after a long battle of liver disease. Chuck was a 1977 graduate of Seymour High School. Following graduation, he started his career at Baptist Hospital where he worked as a Cardiovascular Tech and continued to work for Mercy when the hospitals merged. Chuck served as a Youth Pastor at Galilee Baptist Church, New Hopewell Baptist Church and Norwood Baptist Church. He loved the youth ministry and had a tremendous impact on many young people's lives. In addition to the youth ministry, Chuck also had a heart for missions. Chuck traveled the world sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of people. He was instrumental in starting an orphanage in the Dominican Republic and helped establish the Chadasha Foundation. Chuck also served as a Chaplain for the Knoxville Police Department and more recently helped with battered and abducted children. With his love for children, Chuck also was a foster parent for Child Help USA. His hobbies included camping and he loved "The Great Outdoors".
