Algar was baptized on 31 Aug 1873 at All Saints, Rotherhithe. She traveled with her parents and sisters from London to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1883.
On 21 Nov 1894, Algar married Robert A Reid Winnipeg. The couple's only child, Russell Elwood, was born in Missoula, Montana on 27 Oct 1895.
The family was in Washington by 1900 where they appeared in the census of Fairhaven, Whatcom County. In 1910, the Reid's are found in Bellingham's Ward 5 and Algar's father, Robert, is living with them. This was also the case in the 192 census. In 1930, Algar and Robert are empty-nesters in Bellingham.
Algar died in Bellingham on 29 Apr 1948.
