HENRY MULLINS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Prominent Marion Lawyer Found Lifeless In Office. Funeral Plans Pending.
MARION - Henry Mullins was found dead in his office in the Mullins building this morning about 10:30 o'clock from gunshot wounds in his head, presumably self-inflicted, as the gun lay nearby.
Mr Mullins was for many years a prominent lawyer of the Marion bar and for several terms state senator from Marion County. He was an alumnus of the University of South Carolina. Being much interested in education, he was for a long time a member of the board of trustees of the Marion school.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Edward W. Mullins of Columbia and midshipman Henry Mullins, Jr. of the Unites States Naval Academy, Annapolis. The daughters are Mrs Ernest Ellerbe of Florence and Mrs Elford Ellerbe of Winston-Salem, NC. A brother, W. G. Mullins of Columbia, and sister, Mrs Julia McIntyre of Marion also survive.
Funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of the children. Interment will be at Rose Hill cemetery, where his wife, who was Miss Louisa Norwood and died two years ago, is buried.
