Joyce Catherine, 6, Daughter William Hickey, Is Called
Mr. and Mrs. William Hickey of Camp Grove are mourning the loss of their youngest child, Joyce, who passed away Monday morning at 9:15 at St. Francis hospital, Peoria, after a brief illness. Mrs. Hickey and sons Jerry and Jay have been ill with scarlet fever and Joyce was taken ill with the disease Friday. Her condition became rapidly worse and Sunday evening she was taken to the hospital, where everything possible was done, but it proved of no avail.
Joyce Catherine, daughter of William and Bernadette (Pauli) Hickey was born July 14, 1936 at St. Francis hospital in Peoria. She was a pupil at Camp Grove grade school , having entered the first grade in September of this year. A bright, happy child, possessed of a loving nature, she will be greatly missed not only in the home circle but by her small friends and classmates.
Joyce is survived by her parents, one sister Jean and two brothers Jerry and Jay. A sister Mary Jo preceded her in death.
Private services were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the home near Camp Grove, with Rev. C. R. Gates, pastor of St. Patrick's church in charge. Burial was made in the St. Patrick's cemetery Camp Grove.
