Alberto Meira De Grossi, age 78 was a Brazilian Navy officer. Son of Alberto De Grossi and Jandyra Meira De Grossi, brother of Sergio Meira De Grossi, husband of Rachel Souto De Grossi, father of Marcus, Monique and Claudius.
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, he entered in the Naval Academy in 1951 becoming officer in 1955 and retired as Rear Admiral rank in 1984. As a Capitain, he was designed to be a former member of the Inter-American Defense Board (Junta Interamericana de Defensa - JID in Spanish) in Washington DC, United States of America during the period from 1978 to 1981.
He married Rachel Souto De Grossi on may 11, 1957 and was a very dedicated father and husband, taking care of his wife during her long period of sickness.
He died at home, in the dawn of august 28, 2011 from heart attack probably caused by strong stress he was being submited during his wife illness. (myeloma)
