Ida Jane Vaughan Passes Away
Ida Jane Vaughan passed away Sunday morning at 7:30, March 2nd, of heart trouble at the age of 74 years and 3 months.
She was born December 2, 1872 and departed his life March 2, 1947 at her home in Brookline, Missouri, Rt. 1.
She was born and reared in Pulaski County near Bloodland, Missouri, which is now in the Fort Leonard Wood area.
She was united in marriage to Sam B. Vaughan and to this union seven children were born, 4 girls and 3 boys, Mrs. Bessie Scott of Salina, California, Claude Vaughan of Hazelgreen, Mo., Ernest Vaughan of Evening Shade, Mo., Sylvia Adkison of Cabool, Missouri, Lucy Adkison of Solo, Missouri, Lawrence Vaughan of Brookline, Missouri and Mrs. Gladys Smith of Modesto, Calif.
She is also survived by one sister, Laura Steward of East St. Louis, Ill., and 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, also a host of other relatives and friends.
She united with the Methodist Church when young and remained a Christian wife and mother.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in Springfield in the Herman Lohmeyer Chapel and burial in the Evergreen Cemetery near Republic.
