DEATHS DURING
THE PAST WEEK
Jacob Thome passed away at his home north of Bird Island Sunday morning at 3:45, his death resulting from cancer of the mouth.
Jacob Thome was born in Barweiler, Germany, August 24, 1854 and came to America with his parents at th age of 14 years. The family at Johnsburg, Wis., moving to Stacyville, Ia. five years later. There he was married to Miss Anna Durben who died one year later. Fours years later he was married to Anna Nacke. In 1900 the family moved to a farm near Stewart and in 1908 to the present home north of this village. Besides his wife there are six children to mourn his loss.
The funeral was held at St. Mary's church Wednesday morning, Rev. Fr. Scholzen officiating and the interment took place in the St. Mary's cemetery. The bereaved family has the sincere sympathy of all in their loss. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Gertrude Mieson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Margaret Kramer of Stacyville, Ia., Mrs. John Meyers of Canby and Matt Thome of Turton, S.D.
