Ben Cummings Rites Today

Final rites will be read at 4 o'clock this afternoon for Ben Cummings, 64, who was found dead by members of his family when they arose Friday morning at the residence five miles northwest of Lubbock.

Rev. C.J. McCarty will officiate at services in the Calvary Baptist church. Burial, under direction of Rix Funeral home, will be in Lubbock cemetery.

Mr. Cummings apparently had died about midnight of a heart attack. He moved to this vicinity 15 years ago from Navarro County. He was a farmer.

Surviving are the wife; two sons, David and Ben Cummings, Jr., of Lubbock; seven daughters, Mrs. S. E. Bell, Mrs. Roy McGuirk, Mrs. David Davis and Miss Lille Fay Cummings of Lubbock, Mrs. John Hunter of Loreno, Mrs. Jim Henry of Shallowater and Mrs. Clifton Huckabee of Wolfforth; five brothers and three sisters, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be C.V. James, Otto Wright, Ivy Burleson, J.M. Keen, L.C. Ellis and Herbert Stovall.
