Mrs. Anna McMurray
Mrs. Anna Maye McMurray, 95, formerly of 2600 Kentucky, died Saturday, March 30, at a Topeka convalescent center after a long illness.
She was born May 2, 1889, at Dallas, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel Milton and Emma Feances Hout Cross. She lived at Formoso, in Jewell County, from 1900 until 1918 when she returned to Iowa. She moved to Topeka in 1923 and to the Highland Park community in 1940 where she has lived since.
Mrs. McMurray was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Women's Society for Christian Service of the church.
She married Robert William McMurray Sept. 10, 1923, at Topeka. He died April 11, 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Verna F. Scheetz, Topeka; a son, Loren R. McMurray, Orange, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. McMurray will lie in state from noon Monday until noon Wednesday at Tibbitts-Griffin Highland Chapel.
