HODGES, WALTER WINFORD - age 93 of Trinity Hills Senior Living Community, Knoxville passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010. He was married to the late Flossie Reed Hodges for 66 years where they lived happily in the New Hopewell Community. He made a profession of faith at a very young age. He was a deacon and long time member of New Hopewell Baptist Church and a current member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church, Knoxville. He was retired from Alcoa. Winford enjoyed his family, Bible, friends, farming and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nellie Hodges, brothers, Theodore, Hubert, Cecil, and Paul Hodges. He is Survived by son, Benny (Sonny) Hodges and wife Cindi of Jellico, daughter, Debbie Mitchell and husband Jerry of Knoxville, grandchildren, Wendy Heintz and husband Ken of Knoxville, and Jeremy Mitchell of Chicago, great grandchildren, Oliver and Owen Heintz, brothers, Wiley and Ray Hodges, sister, Martha Patterson as well as several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his special and beloved friends, Tom and Brenda Burnett and the staff and residents of Trinity Hills Community for their devoted care and love. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Thursday in Boyd's Creek Cemetery with Chaplain David Collins officiating.
