Margaretta Miller , born in Greene county, Pennsylvania , in 1824 , died July 7, 1878 , daughter of Jacob and Mary (Gans) Miller. Her father, Jacob Miller was of German parentage but born in Greene county , where he grew to manhood; later he moved to Monongalia county, West Virginia , where he owned and conducted a farm near Morgantown . Mary Gans was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania.
