Dee Lawrence McCroskey , a North Portland resident, died of heart problems Saturday in an Emmett, Idaho, hospital. He was 89.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Skyline Funeral Home. Interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens.

He was born Sept. 6, 1902, in Monroe, Neb. He lived in California for a number of years before moving to the Portland area in 1936. He was pastor of the Interstate Bible Chapel for a number of years and founded Gospel Tract Distributors.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ethel V.; daughters, Evelyn Malpass of Harrisburg and Lois Alvarez of Portland; sons, Wayne and Leonard, both of Portland, and Douglas of Vancouver, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
