"I was born at Corning, CA, as noted, grew up there, and attended elementary and high school there. Graduated from high school in 1938, was class salutatorian. Enrolled at U.C. Berkeley that year, and graduated in 1942 with BS Degree in EE, elected to Eta Kappa Nu, the National Electrical Engineering Honor Society. Joined General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY, went through the Company Engineering Training Program, was assigned as the Design Engineer at the Oakland (CA) Navy Cable Plant, and remained there until 1945."
[Warren was the only electrical engineer at the Cable Plant, and designed the first under-sea cable that helped win the war in the Pacific by avoiding radio transmissions for troop-movements.]
[I was] "Transferred to the Oakland Motor Operation, designed Vertical Deep-Well Pump motors for several years. Transferred to Lynn, MA, in 1951 where I served on a Company Induction Motor redesign task force, transferred to Fort Wayne, IN, when part of the TriClad line was moved there. Worked in Fort Wayne in various management positions for GE, including Manager-Winter Street Engineering. Retired from GE in 1978, went with Copeland Corporation, worked in Humboldt, TN, and Sidney, OH, until retirement in 1984."
"After my retirement, we traveled around some, lived in Hemet, CA, for a year or so, spent one winter in Lake Wildwood, a gated community in the Grass Valley, CA, area. We then returned to the Mid-west, lived in Edwardsburg, MI, for a couple of years before returning to the Fort Wayne, IN, area."
'Professionally, I am a Life Member of IEEE, and a Registered Professional Engineer, registered in California and Indiana. In retirement, I do computer work as a hobby and a limited amount of Consulting Engineering."
