Calvin was the son of Tillman B White Sr.,and mother, Sarah Francis Harwell.

He married Ada Inman about 1870 in Houston Co TX. The date deduced from the first born in 1871.

They had the following known children:
Ada L, Ida M, Georgia, James Ben.

On the 1880 ceneus, Ada's brother was
living with them, B R Inman 32yrs old.
Her other brother was living next door to
them with relatives. C A Inman. in Houston Co.

He served in the Civil War:
Sgt. Co. B. 13th Texas Regt of Cavalry. Four other of his brothers also served. Unit was engaged at Little Rock AR, Fought at Vicksburg MS, disrupting federal supply lines, Lake Providence LA, Bunch's Bend, Unit capured supply wagons, he had picket duty at Cheneyville, Opelousas, Marksville, and Simmesport MS, unit floaded timbers into Red River to block Union iron clad gun boats, fought at Mansfield, Pleasant Hill, Camden AR, Jenkins Ferry AR, this unit was part of a greater force that prevented the Union Army from attacking East Texas, throughout the entire war, thus, sparing the destruction of East Texas towns, one of the success stories of the East Texas Confederate Army Forces.

Calvin was the grandson of Stephen and Nancy [Betterton] White. They arrived in Texas January of 1836, an area call Mustang Praire, later to become, Houston Co TX, not to be confused with Houston Harris Co TX. It is believed they are buried on their former lands, in Houston County.
