The funeral service for C. A. Byrd, who died at his residence, 206 North Adelaide Street, at an early hour Wednesday morning will be held at the parlor of Anderson-Clayton Bros. At 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with Charles H. Roberson, minister for the Church of Christ, conducting the service. Interment will follow in Oakland Burial Park. Pallbearers: Active, Sidney Gideon, G. T. Williams Jr., Guy Manning, Jake Billingsley, Raymond Keen, Charles Wilson, Ruble Farmer, Douglas Lewis. Honorary: D. A. Beck, John Malone, Will Frazier, Roy Bailey, Ben Label, Abe Label, Jacob Label, Dr. John Neely, Dr. Long, H. Maresh, J. B. McGinty, Jim Breeden, Frank McClary, Tom Rutledge, F. A. Williams, Grover Williams, E. E. Boyd, Charlton Griffith, O, R. Payne, Raymond Kelpen.

Cornelius Asbury Byrd was born in O'Connell County [should be Oconee County], South Carolina, May 16, 1866. He came to Texas in 1880, where he married Miss Mary Sullivan of Wills Point in 1888. Surviving him are his wife Mrs. Mary Sullivan Byrd; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Wilson, Mrs. Lenl Teele of Wills Point, Mrs. J. H. Corn of Terrell; three sons; Jack of Terrell, Clarence of Lubbock; R. W. of Mineral Wells, one brother, Will Byrd of Wills Point and one sister Mrs. Eva Hubbard of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Mr. Byrd had been a member of the Church of Christ for the past 18 years. The deceased had been associated with the business interest of Terrell for many years always taking part in any activity that was for the betterment of the town. His death came suddenly after suffering a heart attack at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening.
