MURAT SMITH - West Fork - Murat Smith 80, of West Fork, died March 2, 1982, at his home. Born May 10, 1901 at Woolsey, the son of Andrew Perry and Flora Gilbreath Smith, he was a lifetime resident of the area, a retired owner and operator of West Fork Mercantile and a member of the West Fork Presbyterian Church. Smith served many times on the West Fork school board. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhyno Thrasher. Funeral will be held at 10 am Friday at the West Fork Presbyterian Church with burial in the West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.
