McALLEN - Arturo Fidel Chavez, 55, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at home in McAllen. Arturo was born December 11, 1955 in McAllen . He attended McHi and played varsity football for the Bulldogs. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Silvestre Chavez; two brothers, Armando and Adan Chavez.
He is survived by two sons, Jesus Luciano and Jery Chavez; four daughters, Candida, Amanda, Anissa and Lori Chavez; his mother, Dominga (Alaniz) Chavez; two sisters, Adelita Mercado and Adriana Chavez; four brothers, Alfredo, Alejandro, Alberto and Antonio Chavez; ten grandchildren.
Funeral mass: 1:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment: La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
