Ralph S. Gribble, 71, died Thursday in his home following a long illness.

A Muncie native, he attended local schools and graduated from the present Central High School in 1932. He was employed at Delco Battery for 22 years before retiring in 1975. Earlier he had worked for 16 years at Ball Brothers Rubber Plant. He was a member of Friends Memorial Church and a former member of Delaware County Conservation Club.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Baldwin Gribble; a son, Ralph G. of Muncie; two daughters, Gail Harris and Merrettee McDaniel, both of Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne and Ray, both of Muncie; two sisters, Evelyn Cook and Phyllis Davis, both of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday or before the funeral Monday.
