"Thanks to Lieut. John Washburn we know that Joseph Leonard and his beloved wife Martha Orcutt were buried in the Old Grave Yard of Bridgewater MA. in the vacant space near the NOW monuments of their son Joseph Leonard and his wife Mary Packard, on Mr. Lanthams Plan.Lieut. John Washburn was the sexton of this cemetary from 1739-1797.
"It is sad to note that there is no monument to mark the resting place of my grandfathers' grandparents"Simeon Leonard wrote to Manning Leonard in 1855."
****Ephraim was to maintain the old folks but he failed in business and moved to New Jersey. Leaving his Father Joseph Leonard in dire indigent circumenstances."
