Elmer E. Batterton, 97, of White Plains, MD. passed away at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD on July 27, 2008.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Batteron and Anetta Ford Batterton.

His wife Veronica M. Batteron, brothers; Charles Batterton, Lee Batterton, Walter Batterton, Jack Batterton, Sisters; Stella Wrestler, Goldie Whyers, and Elise Mahr.

He is survived by his son; Jerry Batterton and his wife Carol. Also he is survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Batterton had retired from Sears in the Auto Parts department. He enjoyed reading, his grandchildren, and loved plants.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata, MD. A Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 10 am. Father Fred Macintyre will officiate. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
