Taken from family records and transcribed by Michael Bowen, MRB, #47351043. Katharina Lehr was born in Cassel, Glueckstal, Russia on July 9, 1880, the daughter of Andreas and Carolina (Wahl) Lehr. She arrived in America with her family on October 12, 1880 as an infant. Andreas and Carolina with seven children (Friedrich, Johann, Heinrich, Christine, Albina, Jacob and Katharina) departed Hamburg, Germany on September 29, 1880 aboard the SS Herder. The Lehr family settled in Hanson County, South Dakota. Katharina married Peter Reich about 1903, and they settled in North Dakota. They had these children: Ida, Mrs. Steve Stavou (1903-1989), Emma, Mrs. Thomas McGrath (1906-1992), Lydia, Mrs. Chester Eldredge (1908-1992), Barbara (1909-1924), Elsie, Mrs. Raymond Harvey (1912-1971), John Reich (1914-1970) and Fred Reich (1916-1997). She died June 11, 1921 at age 40 in Beadle County, South Dakota according to the South Dakota Death Index.
