Services for Bert M. Allen, 80, Caldwell, a former Nampa resident, who died Friday, Sept. 19, in Caldwell, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. The Rev. Joseph Housh of the First United Methodist Church, Nampa, will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Allen was born Sept. 9, 1906, at Lenora, Kan., a son of Lewis and Comfort A. Williams Allen, and was reared and educated there. He went to Colorado and worked at Weldona for a time.
He married Esther M. Kellogg March 12, 1930, at Greeley, Colo. They returned to Lenora where they made their home and farmed until 1945. They then moved to Kersey, Colo., and lived there for two years.
They moved to Nampa in 1947 where he was an employee of the Pacific Fruit Express shops for 17 years. He had also worked as a deliveryman for Terry's Home Furnishings for several years.
He was a former member of the Royal Neighbors of America and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway, Airline and Steamship Clerks of America.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; one son, Richard E. Allen of Boise; two daughter, Donna L. Davis of Caldwell and Roberta L. Hicks of Meridian; one brother, Wayne Allen of Greeley, Colo.; one sister, Esther Hewitt of Longmont, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
