Wayne Lewis Allen was born in Lenora, KS to Lewis and Comfort (Williams) Allen. Mr. Allen grew up on a farm in Lenora until moving to Kersey in 1937. He graduated from Kersey High School in 1939. On August 24, 1946 he married Virginia Giggy in Scottsbluff, NE. Mr. Allen joined the Army Air Corp and served in Europe during WWII. He worked for Consumers Oil Company from 1951-1963 then as a postal clerk in Greeley until his retirement. He enjoyed working in his yard and traveling and was member of Sherwood Park Baptist Church.
Mr. Allen died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at his home in Greeley.
Survivors: Wife, Virginia Allen of Greeley; daughter, Debbie Dyer and husband Lanny of Greeley; two sons, Dave Allen and wife Sharon of Grants Pass, OR and Ron Allen and wife Linda of Cardwell, MT; four grandchildren, Dave Allen II, Wendi Jett and Monte Allen all of Oregon and Wesley Keppel of California. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Parents; two brothers, Bert and Ward Allen; three sisters, Esther Hewitt, Evelyn Allen and Pearl Jones.
