Died peacefully Wednesday evening, August 31, 1988 at St. Luke's Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Age 81 years.
Mr. Niederquell was born July 15, 1907, in Schultz, the German Province of Russia, coming to Philadelphia, Pa., in 1911, then on to Bay City, Quanicassee and Saginaw. He was first married to Hilda Fromm, Dec. 24, 1932. She predeceased him, Dec. 18, 1953. He then married Mary Lich Klemm, on Aug. 5, 1955. She survives him. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for the Central Foundry Division, Malleable Iron Foundry, for 40 years.
Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are two sons and their spouses, Kenneth and Beverly Niederquell, Hale, Mich., Gerald and Carol Niederquell, Saginaw: one step-daughter and one Step-son and their spouses, Janice and Stephen Young, Lake Wyle, S.C., Jacob and Coreen Klemm, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Brian and Allen Niederquell; Terri Shellenbarger; Michael and Nicholas Niederquell; Karen Gremaldi and Linda Williams and Laura Cartner; seven great-grandchildren, Sacha, Tyme and Zack Shellenbarger; Lisa, Kelly and Toni Gremaldi and Jason Williams. One brother survives him, John and Mary Neiderquell, Saginaw. He leaves several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one grandson, Mark Young, in 1976; four brothers, Jacob, Fred, Gottfied and David; two sisters, Sophie and Mary.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 1988, at the Wakeman Funeral Home...
