Walter Carey Batt, 75, 2806 S. Franklin St., died Monday noon in Ball Hospital. A lifelong resident of Muncie, he was a retired Kimble Glass Co. employee.
Surviving are his wife, Lena; three daughters, Mrs. Willard Blankenship, Mrs. Woodrow Jackson and Mrs. Frank Edwards; five sons, William, Virgil, Howard, James W., and David Leroy; a sister, Mrs. Ada Voorhees, and 22 grandchildren, all of Muncie; and another son, Pvt. Richard Lee Batt, U.S. Marines, San Diego, Calif.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be there at 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev. A.E. Woodcook officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
