Mrs. Barbara Schmitz, 40, of W4853 Schluchter Road, Chilton, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1991 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a farm accident.
She was born August 26, 1951 in Green Bay, daughter of Monica (Kopidlansky) Geiger and the late Norbert Geiger Sr.
She was married to Dennis Schmitz on July 8, 1972 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Brillion. She taught school in the New Holstein Public Schools for several years and had farmed with her husband in the town of Stockbridge. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Camilla and Tiffany; two sons, Mathew and Andrew, all at home; her mother, Monica Geiger of Brillion; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy (Michael) Siehr, Martha (Earl) Haag, both of Mishicot; Monica (Tony) Schmidt, of Brillion; Mary Ann (Steve) Piepenburg, of Chilton; seven brothers and six sisters-in-law, James (Betty) Geiger of Chilton; Norbert Jr. (Colette) Geiger, Paul Geiger, Albert (Kay Lynn) Geiger; Simon (Rhonda) Geiger, all of Brillion; Randy (Rosie) Geiger, of Reedsville; Mike (Karen) Geiger, of Greenleaf.
She was preceded in death by her father and by one brother, Gerald.
Funeral services were at Holy Trinity Catholic church in Jericho with the Rev. Peter Coffey SDS officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
