Alma S. Beal, 87, of Sewickley, formerly of Meyersdale, died July 8, 2001 at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born May 21, 1914 in Meyersdale, daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Saylor) Sperry. Also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Beal Sr. Survived by a son, Thomas Beal II of Sewickley; brother, Rev. Gordon Sperry of Hickory, N.C., and sister, Audrey Fell of Oakland, Md. She was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and Cumberland Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Member of the Sewickley Presbyterian Church and was active in Laity Ministry for shut-ins. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bruce Ashlock officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery.
