He was 22 years-old when he enlisted 5/8/1861 at Monticello, Arkansas to serve for 12 months and was mustered into Captain Jackson's Company "Monticello Guards" at Lynchburg, Virginia 5/19/1861.
Died of disease.

The 1st (Fagan's-Colquitt's) Arkansas Infantry Regiment, formed during the early spring of 1861, contained men from Union, Clark, Ouachita, Jefferson, Saline, Pulaski, Jackson, Arkansas, and Drew counties. Ordered to Virginia, the unit entered Confederate service at Lynchburg.
