Thelma D. McCoy, 86, died March 1, 2000.
A native of Gainesville, Ga., Mrs. McCoy spent most of her life in Norfolk, moving to Virginia Beach in 1996. She was the widow of Glover P. McCoy Jr., and was preceded in death by her son, Glover Ray McCoy. She was a member of Norview Baptist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Lynk of Virginia Beach; two sons, Ben McCoy of Virginia Beach, Johnny McCoy of Virginia Beach; a sister, Louise Ferguson of Reidsville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Larry Bateman. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel.
